That’s right, the actress has been exhaustively practising Taekwondo to prepare herself for the final exam.
“I have been a Taekwondo student for over eight years now. I should have got my black belt long back but genuinely did not have the time to give my exam. I was busy with my film commitments and shooting schedule,” says Eesha Koppikhar.

To prepare for the exam further, Eesha has also been closely watching Bruce Lee and Brand Lee films. “Watching films like Enter the Dragon, Game of Death, Fist of Fury has made me understand the art better,” Eesha smiles. But just gaining the black belt does not make you a master in the martial art form. “There are nine dans (degrees) in black belt. The exam that I am going to give will fetch me my first dan. I will then have to give exams in eight more dans to become a master,” Eesha explains. She adds, “But once I successfully pass my first dan I will be awarded a degree from Korea.”

Eesha got to know about Taekwondo through friends. “I have always been adventurous by nature. When I got to know about this martial art, I instantly enrolled for it. Also, I like the idea of being absolutely prepared in case of any untoward incident like eve teasing or chain snatching.” She adds, “I feel passionately for it today. Takewondo is not only about self defense but much more. It balances you completely — physically, mentally and emotionally. The moves may appear to be fast and violent but leave you calm and non-violent internally.”
