LG Electronics has launched its ultra-slim premium notebook pc ‘X300′ in Korea market, which was unveiled at CES 2010 in Las Vegas. Offering a collection of elegant design features, LG X300 weighs just 970g and measures 17.6mm thick.

Adoption of a smooth, but a wide 11.6-inch LCD screen frameless, also has a gravel-keyboard and touchpad border featuring hidden lighting and touch.

LG X300 is powered by 2.0 GHz Intel Menlow platform with up to 2GB of memory and 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD) instead of the hard disk. X300 is equipped with parts of 2-cell battery pack to provide work seven hours.

The Airis Kira 700 netbook arrived in Spain, where it will sell for 299 Euros without a copy of Windows XP, but you can always opt for this operating system if you want - but by forking over money course. This 10.2 “Netbook will be powered by an Intel Atom N270, accompanied by the usual suspects, like a 1024 x 600 resolution, a hard disk of 160 GB, 1GB of RAM, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth and Wi -Fi and other output options. Looks pretty ordinary, but it does not yet offer another option for those looking for a netbook in Spain to blog whether bullfighting should be banned in Barcelona or not.

Toshiba UK have unveiled the company’s latest Satellite notebooks, the A500, U500, L500 and L550, with screen sizes ranging from 13.3-inches to 17.3-inches. The laptops start with the the 13.3-inch WXGA ultraportable U500, shown here, with a choice of Core 2 Duo and Pentium CPUs, up to 4GB RAM, 500GB storage and optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics.

The 15.6-inch WXGA L500 comes next, with either a Core 2 Duo T6500, AMD Turion Dual Core or Pentium T4200, up to 4GB RAM and 320GB hard-drive. It too has optional HD 4570 graphics. Next is the 16-inch WXGA A500, with 2.16GHz or 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB RAM and 500GB hard-drive, plus Radeon HD 4650 graphics on selected models and an A4-sized keyboard.

Finally, the 17.3-inch WXGA L550 gets a 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard-drive, plus a standard ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 GPU. It, too, has the A4 keyboard. Rugged computers generally look like a cross between the Michelin Man and some sort of inflatable life-raft, so it’s nice to see a notebook that wears its shock-resistance discretely. To be fair to the competition, the Getac 9213 is described as “business rugged”, which means while its full magnesium allow chassis and case, and shock-mounted HDD and 13.3-inch WXGA display may stand up to the occasional bump and drop, it’s not quite in Panasonic Toughbook territory.
Still, there’s a spill-resistant keyboard and touchpad, and the rest of the hardware specs aren’t exactly lacking. A 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn-class ULV processor provides the grunt, along with 3GB of RAM and 160GB HDD (250GB optional), and battery life is tipped at up to 8hrs. Pop out the optical drive and you can fit a second battery, pushing that figure up to 12hrs.

There’s also WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and digital microphone array. A fingerprint scanner and integrated TPM security module round out the hardware. The Getac 9213 is available now, with an MRSP of $1,799.

Funstylers Laptop Review: ASUS have announced a number of new notebooks, including both Intel and AMD powered machines and with screen sizes ranging from 15.6- to 17.3-inches. Of the new models, perhaps the most interesting is this, the U50VG-XX060C, a 15-6-inch Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz machine with 4GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce G 105M 512MB graphics.
The U50VG has a 250GB hard-drive, 16:9 aspect display running at 1366 x 768, and an HDMI port, together with a 1.3-megapixel webcam and WiFi b/g/n. The chiclet-style keyboard is backlit, and it’s set to land in Italy priced at €943.20 including tax ($1,320).

Meanwhile the similarly 15.6-inch K50-series gets a few new models, in the shape of the AMD Turion 64X2 Ultra ZM-84 2.3GHz K50AB and the Intel Pentium dual-core T4200 2GHz K50IJ. Both have 4GB of RAM, while the former has ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 512MB graphics and the latter uses Intel GMA X4500HD graphics with shared memory. The K50AB is €793.20 ($1,110) while the K50IJ is €628.80 ($880), both inclusive of tax.

The final new 15.6-inch model is the ASUS F52Q-SX071E, another Pentium dual-core machine (the 2GHz T3200) this time with 2GB of RAM and the GL40 chipset. Intended as a business model, it comes with Vista but can be downgraded to Windows XP, and is priced at €643.20 ($898).

Finally, ASUS have two 17.3-inch models in the shape of the AMD-powered K70AB-TY002C and K70AB-TY001C. The former uses an AMD Turion 64X2 RM 74 2.2GHz processor, while the latter steps up to an AMD Turion 64X2 Ultra ZM-84 running at 2.3GHz; both machines have 4GB of DDR2 RAM and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 with 512MB of memory driving a 1,600 x 900 LED-backlit display. The two notebooks will go on sale for €793.20 ($1,107) and €868.80 ($1,215) respectively.

Funstylers Laptop Review: Of all of MSI’s X-Slim series of ultraportables, the X600 has been perhaps the most mysterious. All that looks set to change, however, as the first review units start to slip out: NewGadgets.de have acquired one, and recorded a full hands-on of the 24.5mm thick notebook together with a comparison to the X340.

As we know from last month, the X600 has up to 4GB of RAM, up to a 500GB hard-drive, and a choice of processors from Intel’s CULV range (topping out at the 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo SU3500). There’s also ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4330 graphics with 512MB video memory, VGA, HDMI, three USB, ethernet and audio in/out connectivity, WiFi a/b/g/n and, model depending, Bluetooth.

What remains to be seen is how build-quality holds up; other models in the X-Slim range have been criticized by reviewers for their overly-flexing keyboards and cheap feeling trackpads, no doubt a result of MSI attempting to deliver a MacBook Air rival at half the price. In the case of the X600, though, it’s not so cheap: European prices, which will admittedly be higher than in the US, are coming out to $1,123 or more.
